The Jaffrey Rindge Cooperative School District is seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of District Coordinator for Student Services. Qualified candidates will have a Master's Degree in Special Education Administration or similar and the ability to gain certification in Special Education Administration. At least 3 years experience as a special education teacher is required. This position works as part of a district special education administration team providing case management support, training, and acts as LEA for a four-year grade span across the district. A strong foundational knowledge of the special education process and the ability to act in a leadership role is required. This is a full-time, year-round position. This position adds to an administrative team that supports grades PK-12 in grade-band assignments. Grade-level placement will be dependent upon the skills of the administrative team as well as the needs of the district. Some case management may be required.Job skills and knowledge include:Knowledge of SAU policies and procedures.Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills (oral and written)Expert knowledge of federal and state special education laws, regulations and funding concepts. Skill in establishing, practicing and applying ethical standards as they relate to the profession of Special Education AdministrationUnderstanding 504 and home school regulations, Medicaid, Catastrophic Aid reimbursement, and Episodes of Care procedures.Ability to apply principles and practices of special education administration. Knowledge of administration of staff and activities, either directly or through subordinate supervision.Skill in planning, organizing, assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of staffAbility to provide training and professional development in collaboration with the Director of Student ServicesSkill in researching, compiling, and summarizing informational and statistical data and materials, interpreting professional, technical, and government regulationsAbility to apply applicable state, federal, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Skill in use of methods and techniques of research, statistical analysis, and report presentation.Ability to apply computer applications related to the work. Knowledge of Effective transition practices (building to building as well as high school to post-high school). Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction and oversightThe ability to apply logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; to understand, interpret and communicate complicated policies, procedures and protocols.Skill in communicating clearly and effectively to communicate in written and verbal formats. This includes the ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and public groups as neededDuties and Responsibilities: Facilitate and act as LEA for special education meetingsParticipate in district and state professional learning communities in accordance with District and State strategic design, plan, and policiesJob duties include desk work, sitting, standing and traveling to all buildings and classrooms throughout the district.Support Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team process across the DistrictCoordinate placement, facilitate program development and monitoring of special education students placed out of districtSupport the development of transition plans for students entering the district and those leaving the districtSupport district NHSEIS implementation (State of NH IEP system), train staff in NHSEIS implementation, and monitor NHSEIS for accuracySupport student transitions from building to building as well as students leaving high schoolWork collaboratively with building administration and Student Services Administration to meet the needs of learners and staff in compliance with federal regulationsCollaborate and oversee Extended School Year operationsAssist in the evaluation of special education program effectivenessAssist in the recruitment, selection and recommendation of for the hiring of special education staffAssist in evaluating special education staff as assigned by the Director of Student ServicesAssist in federal and New Hampshire grant applications and maintenanceAssist in developing and monitoring annual budgets for all special education programsSupport the coordination of special education services in district preschools Assist in monitoring compliance with State Department of Education indicators and mandatesAssist in conducting academic evaluations and report writingProvide coverage and assistance in classroom settings as neededPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student ServicesWorking Environment:Physical demands include: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and significant fine finger dexterity. Combination of sitting, walking and standingThis position is subject ot a high volume or work requiring strict adherence to deadlines and workload goals which may be stressful; frequent deadlines and/or pressure situations.
