POSITION SUMMARY: (The primary function/purpose of this job.)
The Fuel Management Consultant – Fuel Sales - Responsible for generating new business as well as retaining current customers, both resulting in growth and increased profits in their assigned territory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The major task areas required of the incumbents to successfully perform in this job.)
- Prospecting for new customers and business in addition to growing and maintaining the existing customer portfolio; Qualifying new leads to ensure an adequate sales funnel exists to support operating plan sales goals.
- Generating proposals, preparing sales quotes, planning customer meetings, and providing explanation on product offerings, highlighting differentiation from competitors.
- Sales negotiation and deal closure at the customer, interfacing with all key buying influencers.
- Achieve annual and quarterly goals through accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting, by prioritizing selling time to generate sales volume, achieve account penetration and complete territory coverage.
- Maintaining satisfactory after-sale relationships and development of long-term customer relationships coupled with the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities that immediately satisfy customer needs.
- Develop account penetration strategies for key target and competitive accounts and communicating current market intelligence back to the business, along with field concerns, issues and requirements
- Set up new accounts, obtaining credit information, unit information, and communicating with other internal resources to ensure account information is complete and timely.
- Investigate and expedite customer complaints and assist to resolve problems quickly and recommend corrective action.
- Pay includes Base Salary, Monthly Commissions and Quarterly Incentive.
QUALIFICATIONS:(Minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities.)
- Requires education generally equivalent to successful completion of 2-year associate degree, or equivalent, with a major in business administration, economics, sales, or marketing and two years related experience; or a 4-year college degree with a major in business administration, economics, sales, or marketing.
· Strong personal accountability with track record for delivering on expectations/commitments with focus, perseverance, and tenacity.
· Requires strong customer orientation to develop and maintain customer base relationships and resolve account issues in a timely, professional and positive manner.
· Ability to proactively communicate, influence, and engage correct stakeholders by implementing actions; excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
· Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as a part of a solution-based sales process.
· Clear thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex issues into simple messages.
· Requires ability to pursue a program of professional growth through an understanding of the sales process and the ability to execute basic sales strategies.
· Requires knowledge of and the ability to use computer software such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Siebel / Oracle SFA and CRM.
· Requires knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of standard office equipment such as a computer, and telephone.
· Willingness to travel within your specified geographic region. % in market is determined by market budgetary needs.
- Requires valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a motor vehicle in a safe manner while carefully observing all traffic regulations.
