Job Title: Power Automate Intern

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Part-time, up to 20 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $20/Hour

Location: Ypsilanti, MI

Position Description Summary:

The Power Automate Intern will play a pivotal role in advancing digital transformation initiatives under the guidance of the IT Manager. This position will participate in transitioning manual operations to streamlined, automated processes utilizing Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint. Key contributions include conducting thorough requirements gathering, performing data analysis, designing process maps, and developing and refining automated workflows. The intern will also take part in enhancing and sustaining the performance of existing Power Automate solutions. Collaborating closely with IT leadership, the intern will contribute to achieving strategic goals within set timelines.

As a BI & Automation Intern, you will be working on BI dataset performance optimization. This will include two projects that will focus on implementing advanced error and consolidating Power BI, workspace reports, and dashboards for governance and data quality. 

Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s or Graduate program for Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics/Science, or a related field of study
  • An understanding of finance principles through coursework or experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Self-discipline and ability to complete tasks without constant oversight
  • Passion for quality, process improvement, and learning new skills
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint required
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate required
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps required
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams
  • Understanding of data analysis
  • Understanding of requirements gathering
  • Understanding of creating and reading process diagrams

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SQL databases, ETL, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI
  • Knowledge of relational database modeling concepts
  • Strong understanding of BI models utilizing Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using BI tools. (Example - Microsoft Power BI, Python, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work autonomously and use excellent judgment in escalating issues to supervisors

Your Work:

  • Work on a project that will help the IT team in data analysis and visualization.
  • Create a deliverable in Power BI that will fulfill a business need.
  • Utilize Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate to develop and implement new automation solutions that streamline financial processes and improve data management.
  • Participate in the review and optimization of business processes and workflows, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Document changes and updates to processes, providing clear instructions and support to ensure smooth adoption and implementation.

Location & Working Conditions:

Interns report to a J|D supervisor designated to manage the Analyst & Intern Program or other senior manager identified during the hiring process or performance review process.
