The mechanic inspects and performs maintenance and repairs on a variety of different types of equipment and machinery. Additionally, the mechanic ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and assists the warehouse with other needs as necessary in order to improve operational efficiencies.

Your Day to Day

• Operate and inspect machines and equipment to diagnose defects.
• Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on all equipment (oil changes, cleaning, and other routine services).
• Maintain and update necessary repairs, service and maintenance records for accuracy.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Repair, adjust and maintain warehouse machinery.
• Identify safety hazards and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
• Perform welds on machinery or equipment, fabricating safe repairs or improvements as assigned, and ensuring safety is never compromised on machinery or equipment.
• Order parts for repairs on machinery as approved by the Fleet and Warehouse Manager.
• Open and close work orders for repairs, completing all required paperwork.
• As required, make deliveries to project locations and pick up or drop off equipment, supplies and materials.
• Operate machinery such as forklifts, cranes or other equipment at warehouse in order to assist in moving and loading equipment for delivery.
• Support office and warehouse as needed or required and check on office and trailer equipment such as AC and heaters.
• Perform routine maintenance on warehouse, office, and project trailers as needed.
• Plow and clear snow from warehouse yard and office parking lots and walkways as needed.
• Perform cosmetic repairs (paint, windshield repair) on equipment and/or vehicles, ensuring safety is never compromised.
• All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three to five years of similar or related experience preferred
