Description of Duties:

The System Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

·Perform system administration operations and maintenance task for Linux and Microsoft environments hardware and software

·Manage virtual machine environments

·Manage secure authentication and data controls to include PKI

·Manage, configure, and maintain client-based computer systems

·Perform system monitoring, scanning, and Cyber Security response task

·Maintain Service Security Plan

·Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot system errors and client system issues

·Perform and maintain DoD Information System Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance with routine patching for updates released by vendors

·Manage, update, and maintain configuration management of all configuration changes to systems, patches and anti-virus software updates

·Perform system analysis for virtual service health status to include resource utilization and performance requirements to ensure optimal performance of systems

·Perform routine scans and anti-virus software updates on all systems

·Perform system automation activities with utilizing scripting tools/languages

·Provide System Administration support for IT related meetings and configuration change board review

The successful candidate will:

·Be able to work independently as well as collectively within a team

·Be able to apply critical thinking techniques

·Be able to effectively communicate with customers and other team members, both orally and in writing

·Be able to quickly adapt to new situations and a willingness to learn new technologies

This position can be filled at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

This position is expected to pay $104,000 - $129,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 6 years of general experience

·Must have 7 years of directly related experience as a System Administrator

·Must have1 year of experience in management or leadership roles

·Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security CE Certification)

·Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

·Proficient in Windows Systems and Linux Administration

·Experience with virtualization solutions (VMware)

·Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

·Experience with automation solutions, systems provisioning and management solutions

·Experience with scripting or software development

·Experience with Operating System hardening (DISA STIGs, etc.)
