The Earth & Exploration Science team seeks a Science Education Intern to work at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This position is only offered in person and onsite.

** This is a temporary role not to exceed 12 weeks**

Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital learning curriculum on planetary science and geology topics.
  • Develop interactive digital products and templates using provided software tools.
  • Develop communications strategies and products related to Earth and planetary science, human space flight, and technology development​.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Requisition Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited university.
  • Completed at least 45 credit hours.
  • Minimum of 2.8 GPA.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills​

Requisition Preferences:

  • ​​BS/MS/PhD student in geology, science communications, geography, education, or a closely related field.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
