The Civil Engineering Co-op at Jacobs provide engineering students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in their specific area of study. Co-ops will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides interns invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment. 

The candidate would be exposed to tasks civil engineering disciplines including roadway design, structural engineering, transportation planning, aviation, and intelligent transportation systems.

Typical work tasks include:

  • Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of solutions and systems for public infrastructure applications.
  • Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for use during project construction.
  • Use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Collects and prepares data for evaluation.
  • Plan Development
  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited program
  • Must be at least a rising Junior
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Ideally, you’ll also have\:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • A previous internship related to your field of study
  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
