The Marking/Communications internship is expected to last 3-6 months with the goal of converting the selected candidate from an intern to a permanent full time employee.

Description of Duties:

The Marketing/Communications Intern supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Create content, schedule and publish social media posts for Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Create content and publish approved communications for an internal SharePoint site.
  • Collect and analyze social media and SharePoint analytics. Make recommendations on increasing internal and external engagement.
  • Learn client requirements, contract objectives and company branding guidelines to create marketing materials for use at various trades’ shows, client presentations, employee communications and recruiting events.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of employee appreciation events.
  • Assist in building relationships with non-profit organizations that align with company values and contract objectives for both recruiting and brand awareness purposes.

The Marking/Communications internship is expected to last 3-6 months with the goal of converting the selected candidate from an intern to a permanent full time employee.

This position will be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO. The selected candidate will have to reside in Colorado Springs, CO (or surrounding area) during, and after (if converted to permanent employee), the internship period.

This position is expected to pay $42,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 year of general experience; Associate’s degree or higher and 0 years of general experience.

  • Must be familiar with and able to use Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Ability and desire to learn additional Adobe suite apps.
  • Be able to create content and post to Facebook Business page.
  • Be able to organize and prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully work independently as well as within a team.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience with Webflow.
  • Familiarity with Canva.
  • Familiarity with basic photography best practices and video editing.
