jacobhealthcarecenter is Hiring a Lead CNA Near San Diego, CA

The Lead CNA serves as the main liaison between the Unit Manager/Nurse Supervisor and the CNAs. Main duties include training new CNAs, monitoring CNA assignments, and rallying the team to provide quality service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

● Provide on-the-job training for new, rehired, and existing employees

Coach the team members in providing quality service that is aligned with the values of the company

Ensure a pleasant environment for residents and their family members

● Train/educate all newly hired staff regarding departmental procedures, safety and health issues, and other information

● Complete an orientation and competency check on new hires upon the completion of the orientation period

● Provide constructive feedback to the new hire

● Serve as liaison to the administrative staff and the new employee

● Observe and monitor CNA’s resident assignment

● Coordinate with the Unit/Hall’s manager huddles prior to the CNAs start of shift and when necessary

● Monitor CNA’s completed assignment via POC (Plan of Care) dashboard

● Provides for patient's personal hygiene and daily living. This may include providing and clearing bedpans and urinals, providing baths, backrubs, shampoos and shaves, and assisting patients with showers. Assists with meals and feeds patients. Ambulates, turns and positions patients. Provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.

● Administers enemas, douches, non sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths, and applies restraints.

● Performs I&Os; checks vital signs and weight; performs sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.

● Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees. Maintains good working relations with nursing unit staff and other hospital employees through appropriate communication.

● Instills confidence in patients by maintaining a neat appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner. Reports observations of patients to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.

● With specialized training and written approval, may perform additional and specialized tasks pertinent to the assigned area.

Required Skills/Abilities:

● Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.

● Maintains a safe environment for patients and co-workers; transports patients and equipment as appropriate.

Education and Experience:

● High school graduate preferred.

● Successful completion of nursing assistant course or the equivalent.

● Previous skilled nursing experience

● Minimum of 3 years experience as a CNA

Licenses:

● CA CNA license (required)

● CPR certification
