POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Effectively execute timely media monitoring and reporting daily.
• Pitch news to media
• Write and edit content and press releases, with accuracy and speed.
• Help manage media relations and logistics for b2b and b2c clients.
• Build and maintain media lists and database.
• Mine for story opportunities in a timely way.
• Develop new content for internal and external publication.
• Assist in development of PR campaign project plans and written materials including press releases, media statements and talking points

EDUCATION

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field of work. B.A. in Communications or related field

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 1-2 years of agency public relations experience preferred
• Experience in project management (preferably Asana) and execution of PR campaigns.
• Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
• Demonstrated success in securing media coverage (local, trade and/or national) and passion for media relations
• Relevant knowledge of local media, national news, and industry trends 
• Experience with and understanding of PR and marketing concepts and practices 
• Willingness to follow industry trends and current methods 
• Outstanding communication and writing skills and knowledge of AP Style 
• Working knowledge of social media 
• Excellent attention to detail, strong proofreading skills and ability to multitask and execute through to completion 
• Candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating calm under pressure
