Overview
Assists the Front Desk Manager in overseeing procedures, staff performance and conduct with all front office staff, and ensures proper completion of all front office department duties. Acts as the “eyes and ears” for the Front Desk Manager by reporting all issues/concerns. Is “on call” for all events and also if needed in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Assists the manager with overseeing all front of house operations which include Front Desk, Reservations, PBX, Bell, and Valet.
- Trains, cross trains and re-trains Front Office staff.
- Maintain high quality of service required by Company.
- Manage guest and employee relations.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of room locations, types of rooms, packages and discounts.
- Addresses any problems between staff as soon as possible and relays to Front Desk Manager.
- Works towards achieving monthly/yearly budget and conducts monthly inventory of front desk supplies.
- Checks pass-along book daily and shift check lists.
- Assists in mandatory meetings and calls mandatory meetings for issues when needed.
- Makes sure all front office staff understands and follows procedures correctly.
- Requires all staff to wear proper uniforms.
- Knows and understands all safety and emergency procedures and how to act on them.
- Always upholds the hotel's commitment to provide extraordinary guest service.
- Ensures that guests are treated courteously, complaints and problems are resolved, and requests for special services are carried out.
- Minimize employee turnover through proper training and motivation of employees.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years hotel front office/supervisory experience.
Pay range: $41,500 to $54,000 per year
*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state-of-the-art air filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment.
