Position Summary

Operating Room Technician 2 perform specialized work in assisting in the performance of complex surgical procedures in hospital operating rooms. Employees in this classification are responsible for
preparation of operating rooms for surgical procedures; maintaining operational readiness of specialized equipment; serves as maintenance of operating room instruments and equipment following surgery.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Pre-operative room preparation and cleaning, ensuring necessary equipment is available.
• Maintaining aseptic techniques throughout the procedure.
• Setting up instruments and supplies, and performing counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assisting the surgical team during procedures, anticipating their needs.
• Managing specimens and medications according to policies.
• Ensuring safety for patients, self, and team members.
• Participating in post-operative cleanup and room preparation.
• Carrying out unit-specific duties while upholding service excellence and CARE values.

Education
High School diploma is required.

Experience
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.

License/Certification

Operating Room Technician certification preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life
Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.99 - $38.90 per hour
