Under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, assist in a variety of maintenance activities at Cascades Golf Course for the 2024 season. Functions of the position include mowing, tree and brush work, cleaning bathrooms, general golf course maintenance and upkeep, assisting with light construction and various miscellaneous projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a minimum of 18 years and pass a criminal background check. Applicants must have the ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and possess necessary physical capabilities to safely perform related tasks. Available to work a flexible schedule, on occasion, that meets the needs of the facility, including available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees must be able to maintain positive working relationships with the public, fellow employees and other working groups. Knowledge of the sport and course etiquette is a plus, but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ability to be a positive, contributing member of the golf maintenance team
2. Daily/weekly equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance on all equipment
3. Mowing of various course areas, using a variety of mowing equipment, as assigned.
4. Weed trimming, hand mowing and other landscape needs
5. Clearing of brush lines, tree cleanup and leaf work
6. Golf specific areas of maintenance such as sand bunkers and greens maintenance/repair.
7. General course cleaning and care
TYPICAL HOURS:
Most positions will average 40 hours per week with some hours being weekends, evenings and holidays. Some part time positions available within 15-29 hours per week. Star Dates March-May, with work continuing as late as end of fall, for some staff, depending on availability in schedule.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physically active position requiring walking, bending, lifting, reaching, pulling, and pushing. Also includes operating equipment with small engines.
