Jack Tyler Engineering exists to serve two main purposes:
  • We sell and service the equipment that is required to provide clean water to the communities where we live and work. Everyone deserves clean water, and we strive to make sure there is an ample supply. Our equipment collects, treats, and distributes water and wastewater.
  • We sell and service the rotating equipment that is required to keep manufacturing plants up and running in Arkansas and surrounding states. When plants close due to unplanned maintenance and downtime, it can cripple an organization and a community.
The specific equipment that we sell and service from our three Arkansas locations includes pumps and pump systems, compressed air systems, valves, actuators, mechanical seals, controls, water treatment equipment, wastewater treatment equipment, and water storage tanks.
We are looking for a Godwin Pump Field Technician who will be responsible for trouble-shooting, service, repair and maintenance of Godwin equipment in a safe and efficient manner in the shop or at a customer job site. This skilled mechanic will assemble, maintain and repair primarily Godwin pumps, but will also work on various other brands and models of pumps. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of pumps, motors and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot Godwin Pumps diesel engine and pump end issues and repair/rebuild as necessary.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and service various products as directed. Diagnose and report any damage to the Manager.
  • Create an accurate and legible parts and repair list, manually or digitally, for assigned product. Review list of parts with Manager and obtain approval to continue with servicing and repair.
  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
  • Assist customer with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed. Assist in the performance of start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following EHS&S guidelines, policies and best practices.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot units and components of various systems employing Xylem Water Solutions products.
  • Provide technical and labor assistance in other areas of the service operation when not actively performing field service functions.
  • Disseminate service information and provide informal/hands-on training at customer’s locations.
  • Maintain accurate service records.
  • Maintain service vehicle, tools and equipment provided for the execution and delivery of service products in an operational and clean condition.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Two-year technical training or equivalent preferred
  • John Deere / CAT Engine experience preferred
  • Three to five years of diesel equipment maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to diagnose diesel engine and 12 v electrical issues
  • Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of DC electric components
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing
  • DOT Medical card or ability to obtain (CDL not required)
  • Safe driving record
