Jack in the Box is Hiring a Sr Strategic Finance Manager Near San Diego, CA

Jack in the Box Inc. is seeking a Sr Strategic Finance Manager who will be responsible for providing advanced financial insights and recommendations for strategic investment and capital restructuring opportunities such as M&A, divestitures, restaurant closings, refranchising, and financial alternatives; includes the ideation, management, and presentation of complex financial and non-financial analysis to executive leadership and key business partners to support the decision-making process. Position plays a meaningful role in supporting the business strategy and growth initiatives.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs advanced revenue/expense analysis for complex corporate finance projects and transactions. Compiles and analyzes financial data, develops projections and reports, formulates conclusions, identifies and researches variances and trends, notifies management of inconsistencies or inaccuracies, and identifies opportunities for improving analysis processes and procedures.

Communicates key findings of analysis to executive leadership and makes recommendations on the financial strength of potential investments and other opportunities, including actionable insights.

Leads internal cross functional teams to analyze and generate impactful customer, competitive, and market insight; collaboratively formulates and communicates creative and actionable strategies and tactics; and manages execution of resulting plans and initiatives.

Develops methodologies, reviews, and consistently improves financial models to ensure they are accurate and updated to reflect constantly changing business needs.

Provides expertise in the development of systems, procedures, and controls; ensures the accuracy and quality of completed projects and reports, assesses requirements, determines appropriate application.

Builds and maintains strong relationships that support the development of an in-depth understanding of brand strategy and business objectives to identify areas where the department’s capabilities and expertise can benefit the brand. Assesses business needs, asks the right questions, and develops an understanding of the reasons behind specific analysis requests in order to prioritize analyses and ensure outputs are timely, accurate, and adequately address root causes.

Participates in external negotiations related to investment opportunities; manages relationships, gathers data and relevant financial information from third party.

Identifies key marketplace trends including macro-economic, customer, technology, product and competitive and use in strategic analysis that drives successful investment decisions and operational efficiencies.

Leads the development of various internal dashboard and balanced scorecard KPI reporting.

Supports the company growth strategy and initiatives by evaluating potential business opportunities including conducting market research, performing complex financial and other analysis and diligence, and communicating recommendations. 

Leads designated real estate, refranchising and smaller acquisitions by liaising with internal cross functional teams, external advisors, and counter parties.

Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education – Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience – 5-7 years relevant work experience, in investment banking, financial consulting, venture capital/private equity, or corporate strategy preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Requires advanced financial analytical and research skills; outstanding financial modeling and forecasting skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to utilize data to determine decisions

Excellent oral and written English communication skills and interpersonal skills

Strong negotiation and organization skills

Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks; measures performance against goals; evaluates results

Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also effectively collaborating cross-functionally

Strong business acumen and big picture thinking, including ability to deep dive on specific opportunities while maintaining a pulse on the overall business.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be comfortable interacting with executive level leaders.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure/tight timelines

Proficient knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office 365, with excellent proficiency in Excel

Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior

Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the phone; ability to type on a computer keyboard. Ability to travel up to 10% of time as business needs require.

The range for this position is $130,800 - $186,200 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
