POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the preparation of the Company’s SEC financial reporting submissions and debt-holders reporting requirements, as well as coordinating with internal teams to gather and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness of those financial reports. Also responsible for ensuring proper internal controls and regulatory compliance, coordinating the day-to-day accounting activities of the JIB Foundation and the financial reporting and audit for the Foundation.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Compiles and prepares portions of SEC financial statements (i.e. 10-Q’s and 10-K) to the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), and related disclosures for public reporting purposes in compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.

• Coordinates with internal teams to gather and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports for the balance sheet, income statement, cash flows and footnotes. Collects data for the cash flow preparation. Analyzes financial data and trends to identify variances.

• Utilizes the financial reporting tool, Workiva, and assists with the XBRL reporting of financial statements and footnotes required on a quarterly basis.

• Compiles and prepares the financials for the purpose of reporting to debt-holders (i.e. the Securitization financials).

• Coordinates the day-to-day accounting activities of the Jack in the Box and Del Taco Foundation and assists with the financial reporting and audit for the Foundation.

• Owns and prepares certain account reconciliations for each period close.

• Applies proper internal controls to ensure the Company’s ongoing compliance with the SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404. Helps maintain ongoing documentation to ensure Company compliance.

• Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; Master's degree preferred.

Experience – 1-2 years advanced accounting and external financial reporting experience. Requires a minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Requires knowledge of accounting theory and principles, including a strong understanding of FASB, GAAP, and SEC.

• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).

• Experience with Oracle ERP system, QuickBooks and Hyperion is a plus.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills.

• Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.

The range for this position is $70,100 - $99,900 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
