POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing moderate to complex account analysis, project creation, accruals and transactions, journal entry postings, expenditure review, initiating correcting entry; implementing and maintaining accounting systems, and conducting various ad-hoc projects as directed.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyzes complex accounting workflows in Project Portfolio Management (PPM) while performing project setup, ensures task alignment with Development and Equipment Purchasing and recommends proper course of action to department management. Assists Sr. Accountant maintaining PPM HR organization Hierarchy.
• Owns project setups and closeouts. Ensures expenditures are appropriately classified, complete and accurate prior to generating assets and interfacing to Fixed Assets.
• Processes data uploads to PPM and the general ledger using various accounting systems. Prepares period-end journal entries and ensures accurate and timely reporting of various assets, liability, and expense accounts. Assists with preparation of period-end account reconciliations and SOX validations. Researches and resolves discrepancies.
• Maintains and ensures proper functionality of accounting systems and software. Reviews system data for integrity and accuracy. Collaborates with IT to provide accounting system support, testing, and process improvement recommendations. Assists with accounting system integrations, upgrades and transitions; provides requirements, assists in testing and the coordination of implementing the changes.
• Responds to inquiries and requests for information from internal departments and external vendors or agencies. Creates and distributes ad hoc reports using specialized accounting software; gathers requirements and compiles data. Provides functional support and backup to Fixed Asset Accountants.
• Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Experience – 4 years of accounting or financial analysis experience in restaurant, construction or real estate industry.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities • Sound knowledge of accounting/financial concepts and techniques.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient personal computer skills, knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software; familiarity with Discoverer report writing.
• Prior experience with Oracle is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.
Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone/video. Ability to operate a computer keyboard.

The range for this position is $63,700 - $90,700 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
