Jack in the Box is Hiring an ACCOUNTANT I - PROPERTY Near San Diego, CA

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing various moderate to complex accounting and financial activities for the Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and Fixed Assets (FA) Modules. Prepares various analyses, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Ensures data integrity of the PPM and FA modules.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E) balance sheet analytics, audits Prepare-by-Client (PBC) schedules, Financial Notes & Management Discussion & Analytic reporting for filings.

• Prepares reporting and analysis for Sox Controls (New Property Accounting, Depreciation Reasonableness testing, Capital expenditure review).

• Approves financial and metric requests within the ServiceNow Capital Funding Portal workflow.

• Inputs capital projects and fixed assets and administers hierarchy and Fixed Assets location database.

• Coordinates Capital Work Breakdown Structures and ensures task alignment with Development and Equipment Purchasing that align with product catalogs and statement of work.

• Contributes existing lease assets to Securitization as applicable. Assists with the reconciliation of Member’s Equity; conducts analysis of CapEx and TI expenditures to ensure complex securitization rules are adhered to; partners with Treasury to ensure cash is accounted for appropriately between entities and bank accounts.

• Conducts audit of new asset additions to ensure compliance with GAAP, asset classifications and attributes are complete and accurate.

• Assists with valuation of assets for Franchise to Corporate (F-C) transactions and manual additions into Fixed Assets.

• Assists with budget and forecasting capital investments, depreciation, capital writes, franchise site assistance, Cap OH allocations; prepares period flux analysis. Records Development Cap OH and Technology internal labor overhead’ allocates Development OH to store level at specific milestones; prepares property accruals.

• Prepares reconciliation of PPM and FA to General Ledger, prospective new sites, inventory, contract retention, proceeds, property accruals, all tangible and intangible assets, and associated expenses.

• Reviews Lucernex GC Pay App workflow applications to ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentation, including recalculating figures, validating payment amounts and history, promptly communicating errors to contractors, enforcing accountability for necessary corrections, and finalizing pay application logs for submission to Accounts Payable for processing.

• Reviews and reconciles Point of Sale Inventory and Equipment Purchasing Inventory to ensure deployment of goods is accounted for timing and inventory values are complete and accurate.

• Distributes capital investment reporting to business owners. Collaborates with Development, Technology, Facilities, OPS, RE Legal, RE Assets, Marketing.

• Prepares property insurable values for annual insurance renewal; and maintains adequate insurance coverage in collaborating with Development and Risk Management.

• Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Experience – 1-2 years of accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably in restaurant, construction or real estate industry.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Sound knowledge of accounting/financial concepts and techniques.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

• Proficient personal computer skills, knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software; familiarity with Discoverer report writing.

• Prior experience with Oracle is preferred.

• Excellent oral and written English communication skills and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.

Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone, ability to operate a computer, i.e., desktop, laptop, tablet, etc. Ability to operate a 10-key by touch.

The range for this position is $25.29 - $36.06 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
