Position Objective
Responsible for the development and implementation of the annual sales plan for the territory in coordination with General managers and the Executive Team to achieve the corporation’s goals. This position involves the strategic identification and development of new market opportunities for Jack Doheny Company, with a strong focus on the management of end customer and manufacturer’s representative relationships. Daily activities will include managing the sales process for the region, improving key sales processes, supporting the local customers and reps with marketing and customer service efforts. Managing assigned regional sales representatives and product sales and service representatives. Responsible for the identification of new markets, applications, and product development opportunities, and coordinate associated market research and/or new product development efforts as needed.
Job Responsibilities
  • Managing Organizational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue, and expense controls.
  • Sales in assigned territory.
  • Setting individual sales targets with the sales team.
  • Tracking sales goals and reporting results, as necessary.
  • Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team.
  • Coordinating with marketing on lead generation.
  • The ongoing training of assigned regional sales representatives.
  • Developing your sales team through motivation, counseling, and product knowledge education.
  • Promoting the organization and products.
  • Plan, develop and oversee the overall business development strategy.
  • Plan for companies’ financial success
  • Determine key business development KPI’s.
  • Work with sales and marketing teams.
  • Do regular market research.
  • Attend various educations programs and conferences.
  • Communicate with clients, customers, and sales team.
  • Build strong relations with clients, customers, and sales team.
  • Develop sales strategy and onboard of new customers, negotiate deals.
  • Build strong relations with industry professionals, competitors, vendors, and other personnel.
  • Contribute to the reputations of the organization by entering and achieving professional awards.
  • Support team member.
 Requirements
  • Minimum 5 to 15 years’ sales experience.
  • Self motivated and organized. Successfully achieves positive, concrete results through hard work and perseverance. 
  • Inspires others with drive and motivation to sell aggressively.
  • 10 – 15 years of experience in a heavy equipment/truck dealership environment.
  • Develops sales strategies, techniques and tactics based on customer feedback and market environment.
  • Makes effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities. Comfortable working independently and resolving issues without specific direction. Trust worthy with issues concerning confidentiality and the safety of customer information.
  • Effective territory management of independent sales representative organizations – Including hiring, training, goal-setting, evaluation, termination, etc.
  • Comfortable with "face to face" selling as your primary responsibility.
  • Successful, demonstrated experience in closing sales and developing strong relationships with customers. 
  • Adherence to pricing, margin, invoicing and related corporate policies and procedures.
  • Experience interfacing with business owners, key decision makers, buyers, traders, government officials, etc.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills with strong customer interfacing qualities.
  • Strong presentation and computer skills.
  • Support and coordination of marketing efforts in the territory – Including tradeshow participation, assistance with collateral material production, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Able to conduct meetings and give effective presentations. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
  • Able to remain flexible, adapt to situations & provide either leadership or follow instructions and work independently. 
  • Ability to negotiate with customers and overcome objections. 
  • Ability to handle pressure, stress, rejection and work overtime or irregular hours. 
  • Ability to travel approximately up to 75% of the time within an assigned geographic sales territory.
  • Safe driving record and current valid driver's license.

The individual in this position will interact regularly with employees and managers in other departments and locations at Jack Doheny Company. Receiving and reacting to directions other than from your immediate supervisor will be required periodically. Conversely, there will also be time when the person in this position must give directions to others.
