Jacent Strategic Merchandising is Hiring an Area Manager Near Tigard, OR

Area Manager

The Area Manager role consists of an individual who can improve the consumer buying experience by creating merchandising solutions and driving sales in the assigned stores. The Area Manager is responsible for training and coaching a team of remote merchandisers. The Area Manager will also need to maintain a high level of communication through email, phone, and personal contact with their assigned Territory Manager and Merchandising Team. Other duties will include but are not limited to completing surveys and audits, cultivating relationships with in-store management, executing merchandising resets, building retail displays, proper implementation of plan-o-grams, new item placement, void corrections, and stock rotation. The ideal candidate should be able to effectively lead and build remote work teams with excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, quick learner, with a strong attention to detail, works well in independent situations, and has the ability to build relationships with business partners and their remote team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain store presentation standards through building displays, fixture installation, store sets, shelf maintenance, retrofits, inventory reconciliation, display maintenance, and POP installation
  • Identify opportunities for incremental display space to drive volume goals
  • Cover multiple stores daily on an assigned route
  • Build relationships with business partners and store management
  • Assist and monitor customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with manager on all significant initiatives (new product introductions, contests, etc.)
  • Maintain full distribution and display of products on assigned accounts
  • Conduct surveys and audits
  • Acts as a mentor to Merchandisers within assigned area; providing troubleshooting tactics, tips and ongoing support
  • Provide training and retraining to new and current Merchandisers in assigned area.
  • Follows and completes training plan with new hire and reports to Territory Manager plan completion.
  • Provide administrative support and assists the Territory Manager in investigative work in assigned area.
  • Generate orders to drive same store sales
  • Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Credentials

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience required
  • Must be 18 or older
  • 1 to 2 years previous merchandising, grocery or retail sales experience preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with remote workers
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and be on feet for 3 to 8 hours
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have reliable access to a computer, internet and printer to use for company-related business
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate a smart phone or tablet utilizing different applications and internet for company business, like ordering, GPS tracking, and time recording
  • Must be able to read, speak and understand English
The Area Manager is a compliance and policy manager over a small geographical area. Qualifications include.

Able to proficiently navigate apps. on your smart phone.
Physically able to perform duties - bending, lifting, stooping, pulling etc.
Able to handle last minute schedule changes, fast paced and changing environments.
Must have patience for training persons at different levels of learning.
Must follow and aid in enforcing all company policies and procedures.
Must be a problem solver, amicable in dealing with different personalities.
38 TO 40 HOURS A WEEK.
