Why This Job – AP Accountant
This tight-knit accounting department is adding an AP accountant to their team. Though the AP volume is on the smaller scale, the need for research involved is more extensive than you might find at other organizations which means they require an individual who takes initiative and thrives on problem solving. This position would manage all of AP, act as a backup to AR, and eventually take over some tasks from the Assistant Finance Controller. This position is slated for a set career trajectory within the business and requires a self-starter with a strong history of professional communications both in email and in person and the ability to communicate with a variety of staff at all business levels.
What You’ll Actually Do:
- Manage all AP transactions, work with shipping and receiving department and the buyers to ensure purchase orders are received correctly
- Review checks and balances side and process up to 500 invoices per month, including expense reports and credit cards
- Work as backup for the Accounts Receivable specialist
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, CIP, prepaid expenses, fixed assets
- Any small projects as assigned such as using Concur for expense reconciliations, assisting with cycle count process
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Experience with journal entries, income statements, balance sheets
- Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, formulas)
- Large ERP experience preferred
- Accounting certificate or Associates in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of two years of experience
