Position Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor reports directly to the Sanitation Manager. He/She is responsible for the supervision of the Sanitation employees and functions for their shift. Additionally the Sanitation Supervisor leads all Sanitation procedures, executing all employee safety policies, food safety policies and associated administrative policies. The Sanitation Supervisor must manage all day to day sanitation operations and ensure all sanitation assignments are achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for executing plant sanitation programs and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the plant Master Sanitation Schedule and the supporting programs.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for effectively training all department team members in all facets of department policies and procedures.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for motivating sanitation personnel to accomplish company objectives.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the team adheres with SSOPs.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for working with Production, Maintenance, Material Control and Quality Assurance to plan and schedule work to ensure compliance with the Master Sanitation Schedule while maximizing productivity.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for communicating daily with all sanitation employees on his/her shift, both individually and as a group, to ensure effective two-way communication concerning sanitation issues and concerns.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all employees are trained properly prior to executing tasks.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for analyzing and resolving work problems as associated with the sanitation department.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for collaborating with Quality Assurance and Production to resolve food safety issues.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for recommending process improvements, improved equipment design and improved sanitation cleaning procedures to continuously improve sanitation methods.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for supervising assigned employees, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action and performance management.
  • The Sanitation Manager is responsible for being prepared and participating in all external plant audits and federal and local agency audits.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor will adhere to and administer the following programs:
  • Pest Control Program
  • Master Sanitation Program
  • Chemical Usage and Safety Training
  • Plant Grounds Maintenance Program
  • Container/ Color Code Program
  • Waste Removal
  • Pre-operations Inspections Program
  • Lock Out/ Tag Out – Confined Space
  • Sanitation MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for testing chemical strength periodically using the Conductivity and PH Meter.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for training, instructing and enforcing employees in regards to sanitation standards, GMPs, SSOPs, company objectives, food safety policies and company policies.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor is expected to be a role model for the company culture.

  • Must prepare activity plans for the above and discuss them with manager.
  • Must be able to assist Manager in improving a system of sanitation control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
