J&S Anand Inc. is Hiring a Diesel Mechanic Near Manchester, PA

J&S Anand Inc. is looking for a Full Time Diesel Mechanic in the Manchester, PA area.

We are a FedEx Ground Independent Service Provider. Diesel Mechanics will service our fleet of automatic Volvo tractors, all model year 2020 and newer. All tractors are designed with the same specs for uniformity in parts and service.

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for providing timely, quality and cost-effective repairs and maintenance to our fleet out of the Lehigh Valley area. Diesel Mechanics are responsible for preventative and direct maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications and repairs. Your own tools are required. Minimum Class B preferred, but not required!

We offer repair, maintenance, and breakdown recovery to a small and exclusive list of fleet customers. This focus allows us to get to know the same vehicles week after week and make customer service the number one priority. Here at Midnight Towing and Repair, we specialize in Volvo tractors and almost all parts are stocked in house here in Manchester, PA. This includes mechanical parts as well as body panels, windshields, etc! Our stock of parts and supplies means less wasted time playing the waiting game. This is especially important during a time period when the supply streams have been very limited. We purchase parts months in advance to always have what we need on hand.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative inspections with engine/transmissions, belts, hoses, brakes, rotors, oil changes, etc. and schedule and complete maintenance as necessary
  • Perform minor and major mechanical and body repairs on trucks
  • Must be able to mount, dismount and repair tires properly.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes
  • Maintain parts inventory and communicate needs to appropriate personnel
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with vehicles and plan repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs performed on all vehicles
  • Complete other assigned duties as required

Qualifications

  • 1 years of experience performing maintenance on diesel vehicles necessary OR vehicle maintenance certification from an accredited vocational or trade school OR completion of the FedEx Freight, Inc. Apprentice Program with satisfactory performance
  • Experience utilizing Volvo Premium Tech Tool diagnostic software REQUIRED
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles equipped with manual and automatic transmission
  • Proficiency in maintenance programs and diagnostic systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with Volvos and their software is a plus
  • Experience working with DEF systems is a plus
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to pass a Drug Test (Paid by Employer)
  • Must be able to work independently and perform work during flexible hours
  • Must not have any felonies / violent misdemeanors or drug related misdemeanors in the last 10 years

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 45 per week
