Job Title: Trailer Technician Department: Maintenance Country: United States of America State/Province: Georgia City: Macon Full/Part Time: Full time Job Summary: Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis and other equipment. Technicians must be able to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet J. B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance. Job Description: Shift Schedules: Sunday - Wednesday 8:00AM to 4:30PM Shifts may vary based upon location and business needs Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to tractor equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspections Troubleshoot tractor issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines Assist with the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician trainees Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures • Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt's Technician Career Advancement (TCA) program Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences Must be A/C certified Must be DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program Willingness to work outdoors in the elements Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent Basic welding skills (MIG and stick ) Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums Ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds) Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE) Don’t let distance keep you from becoming a part of our team!
