The Position: The Maintenance Custodian maintains the visual appearance of the College and keep restrooms, hallways, classrooms and other spaces clean. In addition to daily cleaning responsibilities, this position will support campus events by moving and setting up tables and chairs as needed. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Routine Cleaning: o Restrooms o Classrooms o Common Areas o Offices o Corridors o Student and Staff Lounges o Carpets and Hard Floor Surfaces Perform projects as assigned by Custodial Lead, through the work order system. Respond to emergencies (spills, accidents, safety concerns, etc.) . Execute room set ups in accordance with Events and Custodial Lead for campus events. Support custodial/janitorial needs for campus events including restrooms, event rooms, trash removal, and common areas. Demonstrate a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success. Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported. Go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student, or an internal or external customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.
