At Iviva, a subsidiary of United Therapeutics Corporation, we are working to transform the status quo by developing advanced organ therapeutics that can offer patients with organ dysfunction a cure and a normal life. How you’ll contribute Plans, conducts, and supports experiments to develop, manufacture and evaluate cell based therapeutics for the treatment of end stage renal disease. Help to derive autologous iPSC from patient samples Help to differentiate renal and pancreatic lineages Help to mature various phenotypes to full function Help develop and streamline manufacturing protocols for human relevant scale Help develop in silico models of microfluidic networks and examine higher level cellular functions on our scaffolds Help prepare our team for FDA filing of an extracorporeal and an implantable device Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute experiments that support research activities, project goals and platform development Serve as a key contributor to the discovery and development of new technologies in tissue/organ engineering Proactively manages work package progress including ensuring continuity of operations, appropriate allocation of staff and resources, interpretation of results and adjustment of goals, timelines, and experimental plan All other duties as required For this role you will need Minimum Requirements Master’s Degree in biology or related field with 7 years of related experience in cell biology, developmental biology, tissue engineering, or related field OR Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in biology or related field with 5 years of related experience Demonstrated expertise designing, planning, and executing experiments using cell biology and bioengineering tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in biology or related field with 5 years of related experience Knowledge of kidney and/or pancreas biology and physiology (not required but is a plus) At United Therapeutics, you’ll realize quickly that it is not an ordinary place to work!
