The Medical Surgical Department is seeking nurses who will have the opportunity to collaborate with the brightest minds in medicine. It’s an invaluable opportunity to help you develop stronger skills and competencies as a nurse.
IU Health West Hospital is a full-service hospital located in Avon, Indiana. We serve the residents of the Indianapolis west side, Hendricks County and beyond. Our magnet designated hospital specializes in life-threatening, emergent, and non-emergent conditions.
Our 3 Medical Unit is a 32-bed Medical-Surgical Unit, which consists of caring for a variety of diagnoses and disorders including cardiac, stroke, dialysis, pulmonary, and more. Our team is comprised of RNs, PCAs, and unit secretaries who all work in collaborating effectively with other disciplines of the care team.
Once hired to a department all nurses beginning their RN career will have the opportunity to participate in a Nurse Residency Program called "Transition to IU Health Nursing Practice." The program goals are to provide socialization and support, improve clinical judgment, and promote professional development.
