The Tech Lead role is a key role that will provide technical leadership with high degree of autonomy and contributes to full software life cycle. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, performant, and scalable web applications with user-friendly web front-end interfaces. This role will work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand their use cases and requirements. Furthermore, S/he will design, implement, and support the business logic and back-end services, providing integration to relational databases and NoSQL datastores. Additionally, S/he will create, develop, and maintain APIs that deliver data for specific use cases. In this role, S/he will work with Itero Group colleagues and perform code reviews along with mentoring less experienced developers. S/he is detail oriented and comfortable working in an Agile Scrum environment.
 
Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in software development and infrastructure operations
• Experience leading project teams as a Technical Lead
• Fluent in one or more of these programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Go, C, C , Java, Objective-C)
• Fluent in general web platform concepts including MVC, REST, HTTP, HTTPS, CSS, CORS, caching and concurrency
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and development
• Strong knowledge of UI patterns and best practices
• Direct experience with cloud services based on Amazon Web Services (EC2, ELB, S3, Lambda)
• 3 years of professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript development including front-end and back-end
• 3 years of experience with NodeJS (server-side)
• 3 years of experience with React JS building advanced web user interfaces
• 3 years of experience in Elasticsearch and Redis. Also, familiar with other approaches such as Rethink DB, Neo4J and more
• Strong experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, and the integration of REST Services and 3rd party APIs
• Experience in SQL, relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL), database concepts, dimensional modeling, and database design
• Experience with container technologies, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Good proficiency with Automated Testing and Continuous Integration using tools like Selenium, Jest, Jasmine, Mocha or comparable testing framework
• Experience in the implementation methodology and CI/CD processes and the corresponding tool stack
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
• Strong experience in a highly available, highly scalable, uptime-critical production environment
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive
• Creative and strategic thinking; willingness to be bold, take risks and recognize and learn from failure
• Collaborative mindset; open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives and feedback
• Ability to work both independently deliver on responsibilities, and in large within a highly collaborative environment project
• Systematically document architecture designs and solutions so that team members can onboard and learn
• Comfortable with fully remote environments
• Effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences

 
Bonus Qualifications:

• Sequelize JS, Docker, Dockerfile, Docker Compose, Git Actions (CI/CD) is nice to have. Understanding accessibility and security compliance, User authentication, and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Understanding of OWASP security principles
• Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or in a relevant field
• Contributions to open source development projects and to the local developer community.
• R&D experience at the collegiate or professional level.
• Experience with native iOS and Android for mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating system & shell scripts.
• Experience in Networking and Security
• Proven interest in algorithms, data mining, machine learning and large-scale systems (follows blogs, up to date on recent developments, etc.)
