Position Title: Machine Operator I

Department: Fabrication- Melbourne

Reports To: Fabrication Shop Manager

Position Type: Regular full-time

General Summary

Attend multiple machine stations to create constant production workflow. Learn, understand, and master the variables (pressure, speed, water quality/volume, pad sequence) of the machine in order to consistently provide the best quality results

Essential Job Functions

1. Unload material from conveyor belts or tables using cranes, vacuum lifts, clamps and hoists.
2. Monitor quality of product output and report equipment failures to shop manager
3. Maintain daily, weekly, monthly maintenance and cleaning schedules
4. Learn pad or tooling sequences based on material (species, colors, thickness, edge profile)
5. Basic upkeep of machinery
6. Lubricate and grease necessary parts, log, and maintain daily
7. Change out pads and tooling
8. Troubleshoot rudimentary issues
9. Provide feedback to management on pad/tool life, quality, speed, pressure, water volume
10. Understand how variables affect final product
11. Communicate inventory levels to management (pad quantities, etc.)
12. Keep to production schedule and maintain shop flow
13. Maintain safe working environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines
14. Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

1. Prior Machine Operator experience of 1 year preferred.
2. Prior experience working with hard surface material preferred.

Other Requirements

1. This role would require the ability to lift, push, and/or pull loads in excess of 50 lb.
2. This role requires use of hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials.
3. This position requires frequent twisting and bending.
4. Time spent standing in position is continual or almost continual.
5. PPE is to be used.
