There are three major things that differentiate IT’SUGAR from other candy retailers. One is the product – an unconventional twist on traditional candy store goods that focus on the humorous and outlandish. As the Asset Protection Associate, you will ensure a safe and secure store environment by addressing issues and situations that impact the safety and security of customers and staff. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment.


What you’ll do? IT’S Exciting!

  • Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner.
  • Partners with the Asset Protection Manager to identify, monitor and address situations that impact the safety and security of customers and staff.
  • Functions as a deterrent, leaving apprehension duties to qualified authorities.
  • Identifies known or potential shoplifters.
  • Observes store activities of customers and vendors, with the intent to provide an environment that is safe from theft or other potentially harmful situations.
  • Adheres to company Asset Protection policies and procedures, including reporting and documentation requirements.
  • Conducts asset protection activities and audits in accordance with Asset Protection policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Identifies associates who violate policies and procedures and partners with the Asset Protection Manager.
  • Maintains relationships with MOD.
  • Performs all responsibilities to achieve individual and store goals.
  • Supports the store's shortage and theft awareness program and advises management of any unusual activity using the various reporting methods provided by the company (Careline, Open Door Policy, contacting Asset Protection or Human Resources team)
  • Follows all store policies and procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

What you need to join the fun! (Besides SUGAR)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior retail experience, security, or related industry experience.
  • Must be able to meet demands of frequent walking and standing.
  • Ability to work flexible, part-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to always exercise good judgment and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills required (emphasis on listening skills and verbal skills).
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as radios, surveillance equipment and telephone.
