We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Network Engineer to support our customer’s IT operations in Norfolk, VA. The effort provides IT services, audio/video support, application development, network engineering, operations, information assurance, and knowledge management support. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret Clearance. 

Cybersecurity Network Engineer Senior Primary Duties:

  • Provide analysis and guidance for application architectural enhancements including but not limited to: Cybersecurity compliance, high availability, scalability, capacity planning, network design, cable plant and internet protocol (IP) management.
  • Provide support to maintain the system, network and application security integrity including development, management and updating the Certification and Accreditation requirements to include the execution and recording results of applicable test and verification requirements.
  • Apply Defense in Depth methodologies to the hardening of all associated networks and systems. In depth knowledge of the Defense Information Systems Agency published Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) processes and procedures is essential.
  • Support all CND compliance.
  • Employ latest Cybersecurity tools and industry best practices in network and system security.
  • Support CSI.
  • Attend meetings, take notes and prepare written feedback on the content and outcome of meetings, and follow-on tasks including recommendation and suggestions.
  • Assist in developing point papers, naval messages, presentations, briefings and other forms of written documentation on an as needed basis to support assessment & authorization (A&A) and Cybersecurity functions.
  • Develop SOPs, checklists, workflow process charts, forms, POC lists, and other documentation needed to support A&A processes and related Cybersecurity functions.
  • Compile and analyze data and develop a monthly Dashboard for customer leadership review for A&A and Cybersecurity readiness and compliance.
  • Develop metrics and risk assessments.

Qualifications

Cybersecurity Network Engineer Senior Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Cybersecurity field and no experience, or AA/AS in related field and 2 years of related experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience. In lieu of formal education, 10 years of experience specifically related to the below qualification requirements.
  • Knowledge of the configuration, management, administration, and design of the customer Intranet
  • Customer Service Delivery Point (SDP) networks.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of the Defense Information Systems Agency published STIG requirements and implementation/compliance process.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of CND compliance requirements for all managed networks and systems.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of the Cyber Security Inspection and Certification Program (CSICP) requirements processes.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the operations and maintenance of the DOD’s Host Based Security System (HBSS).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with network, server and storage virtualization, i.e. Microsoft Hypervisor and VMWare vSphere.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of IOS, EIGRP, BGP, GRE, IPS/IDS, TACACS , ACS and OSPF.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, to but not limited to: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, VPN, SAN, and etc.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in configuring and maintaining Microsoft Servers, SQL, IIS, AD and DNS.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in configuring and maintaining Linux Servers and its associated services.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in writing scripts (i.e. Perl, Python or PowerShell) to perform task automation.
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills.

The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and the public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
