ISN Global Enterprises, Inc. is Hiring a Low Voltage Field Technician (FT) Near Claremont, CA
Under administrative direction, organizes, coordinates and supervises the installation of low-voltage cable and various support and related equipment and the adjustment and replacement of circuitry and electrical components. Position involves travel in the greater California area and throughout the United States and is exempt.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Ability to complete low-voltage tasks as a part of a team or independently.
- Complete daily work logs
- Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/layouts.
- Ensure that equipment is onsite to meet construction schedules and deadlines.
- Use a variety of cable test procedures and equipment
- Test and terminate cable systems; test electronic units and analyze results to evaluate performance
- Integrate access control security/video surveillance, fire alarm and nurse call systems
- Support existing and recommend new equipment related to installation, upgrades and enhancements
- Maintain system logs, manuals and reports documenting equipment testing and operation
- Provide your expertise as a resource to fellow colleagues, clients, and vendors
- Train, schedule, supervise and evaluate subordinate personnel; recommend disciplinary action
- Research and recommend equipment and services to be purchased
- Perform related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of:
- CAT-5, CAT-6, RG6, RG59, fiber optics and other cables
- California & National Electrical Code
- CCTV, Access Control, Audio Visual, Data Cabling, Nurse Call and other Low-Voltage Systems
- DIRECTV equipment and systems
- Computer networking systems, including routers, switches, servers and workstations
- Principles of human resources management
Ability and skill to:
- Work effectively on a team
- Provide excellent customer service
- Safely use tools and equipment including drills, cable cutters, saws, hammer drills, knock-out punches etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints and building plans
- Research equipment needs
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the qualifications would be:
BA/BS in construction, computer science or related field or five (5) years related experience. Supervisory experience a plus.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
- Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and a good driving record.
- Scissor Lift Certification is desirable.
- OSHA-10 or greater is a plus.
- Safety and First Aid Certification a plus
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/A.D.A.
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch for long periods of time
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds
- Ability to get from one location to another in the course of doing business
