Job Title: Common Area Attendant

Department: FINS UP Water Park 

Reports To: Waterpark Management

Prepared Date: 01/2024

SUMMARY: Responsible for the cleanliness of all the recreation common areas, which includes but is not limited to restrooms, sidewalks, parking lots, beach area, pool decks and more. This position is responsible for emptying trash receptacles, cleanliness of the dumpster areas, and operating a trash compactor. Needs to be friendly, task oriented, and have a team mentality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain trash in and around the waterpark
• Effective communication with coworkers and supervisors
• Performing customer service
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Assist one or multiple guests at a time with any questions
• Must be able to read and write
• Cleaning restrooms frequently throughout the day
• Greeting guests
• Basic math skills
• Cleaning spills, food and other fluids around the park
• Enforcing all policies
• Using cleaning chemicals
• Patrolling the park with a broom and dustpan

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but has the potential for growth.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must be at least 16 years of age

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Being bilingual is a bonus!

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and count change.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in both written and verbal form. Ability to deal with problems involving many variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit or walk. The employee could lift a bag that is 50 pounds or more. Typically, the guests' bags are between 15-30 pounds. More than half of employee time on duty is spent outside.

While performing the duties of this job, associates are exposed to outside weather conditions including sun, rain, water, high humidity, and excessive heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
