Island Creek Associates is Hiring a Facilities Manager (24-041) Near Patuxent River, MD

Summary: 

The Facilities Manager supports Facilities and Support Services at Patuxent River, MD. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical support and supervision to a spectrum of functions such as building maintenance, input to design requirements as needed, space, and site planning related to facilities management. 
  • Provide professional and technical expertise performing planning and developmental duties about Facilities Management and the planning supervising and inspection of building projects according to customers’ requirements and financial resources. 
  • Confers with senior management on the project, other program managers and junior project personnel. 
  • May interact with assigned subcontractors and consultants and applies problem-solving techniques to solve complex problems pertaining to maintenance and design tasks of customer/government facilities. 
  • Gathers requirement information from customers and assists in conducting the requirements analysis and formulating requirements documentation applicable to customer/government facility design standards. 
  • Reviews, evaluates and provides feedback to senior personnel on government policies, manuals, regulations, and other documents for relevance to facilities management. 
  • May provide technical consultation and leadership to lower-level employees and ensure the quality and accuracy of the data entered into data collection systems meets a standard set. 
  • Oversee special projects and tasks from beginning to completion related to equipment maintenance, facilities projects such as minor or major construction based on lower-level staff in performing tasks assigned. 
  • Position may be required to be able to perform minor maintenance service tasks in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs, and/or installations. 
  • As required, may participate in the development and coordination of the distribution of work package in the area of construction. 
  • The duties may require the use of power tools and hand tools for minor repairs and could entail repairing woodwork using carpentry tools. 
  • May develop, submit, and review phone, locksmith, work/service orders, equipment moves, cleaning, and janitorial requirements, pest control, grounds maintenance, and self-help requests. 
  • Coordinate scheduling of fire alarms, power/water outages, or emergency response actions. 
  • The position provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced repairs. 
  • In support of building design task functions, the Facilities Manager may ensure that specifications, policies, and procedures are adequately reviewed and followed, and performance and mid-level oversite of planning and analysis work. 

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 0830 – 1700; hours may vary as required. 

Travel: 

No travel is expected for this position. 

Education and Experience: 

BA/BS degree. Associate degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience may be substituted for a BA/BS degree, OR no degree and six (6) years of additional work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. 

Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in Facilities Management 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:  

This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the Secret Level. Must have a current Secret clearance.
