Isidore Newman School seeks an experienced educational leader and student advocate to serve as its Assistant Head of Middle School for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Faculty and staff at Newman believe in the importance of strong relationships between and high expectations for ourselves and our students. We develop high trust and healthy boundaries with our students and colleagues, and we push them and each other to achieve academically and grow personally. We believe that students learn best when they are actively engaged in purposeful and appropriately challenging lessons structured by educators who are experts in their content area and who their students know care about them. As teachers support students in their growth and development both inside and outside the classroom, administrators support faculty and staff in this work and in their own growth and development as professional educators.
Purpose and Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Qualified applicants will have ample teaching and leadership experience, preferably at the middle school level. They will have both the desire and skill set to form meaningful relationships with students and teachers while maintaining high expectations for teaching and learning. Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, resourcefulness, and creativity are prerequisites for the position as well.
