Description

Summary: Electronics Technician position to support our engineering efforts in areas of Hardware, rework and assembly including soldering, assembly equipment setup and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Operation of screen printers and reflow ovens used in production
• Proficient in hand soldering
• Routine and repetitive production tasks in compliance with quality standards
• Programming and operation of dispensing machines
• Inspection of all stencils for form, fit and function as it relates to PCB assembly and the screen printer
• Programming SMT Pick and Place Machine using supplied BOM and XY DATA
• Use of inspection tools, to verify quality. Use test equipment during and after assembly to verify quality.
• Provide all machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum 3 years in PCB assembly and 5 years’ experience performing SMT programming/maintenance
• Experience performing SMT assembly equipment programming with Universal equipment
• Demonstrated ability to understand component packages and programs on the SMT machine
• Experience setting up SMT line, including screen printer, SMT machines and reflow oven
• Demonstrated ability to identify all types of SMD packages (i.e. 0402, 0603 etc.).
• Must be able to read the BOM and set up list. Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Must have general electronic circuit and component knowledge
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and/or production equipment
• Hands-on electro-mechanical skills
• Must be able to work in a dynamic, multi-tasking, team-oriented environment
• The incumbent must be able to read, write and understand documentation and training written/delivered in the English language
• Through-hole assembly equipment, wave solder, conformal coat and machine ship experience
• ASEE, ASIE, AME or relevant technical certificate a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to troubleshoot PCBs to component level a plus.
