Your Role at Baxter

This role has 50% responsibility in organizing and directing activities encompassing warehousing, transportation, and inventory control and another 50% responsibility in material handling. The Warehouse Supervisor coordinates above mentioned activities to ensure efficient utilization of warehouse, transportation resources, and to optimize the flow of finished goods from production to distributor.

What you'll be doing

• Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.

• Prepares KPIs and measures team’s performance against KPIs while drive efforts of cross training

• Works together with the team in warehouse activities and use forlifts to provide support and coverage across shifts

• Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.

• Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.

• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.

• Schedules work for daily and monthly cycle counts and physical inventories and generate reports for physical count results.

• Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow and ensures timely Kanban replenishment.

• Issues written and/or oral instructions to direct reports.

• Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

• Prepares performance metric reports related to inventory management.

• Adjusts errors and complaints.

• Insure GMP's And GDP's are followed in areas of responsibility.

• Directly supervises employees in the warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with one to three years of warehouse experience or 5 years of warehouse experience.

• Ability to supervise activities of warehouse through subordinates.

• Must be able to lift 10-50 lbs. Must be able to operate forklift and other material handling equipment.

• Must be able to cover the work of two shift operation.

• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.

• Manage multiple priorities in a warehouse setting.

• Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Ability to listen actively; proactively share information within and across organization; and to clarify what people say to ensure complete understanding. 

• Must be able to perform this job successfully, an individual should have advance knowledge and skills of JD Edwards, Microsoft Excel, and POMS.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $56,000 - $77,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus.
