Position Description: Part-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Status Employee
The position provides supportive clinical services to participants at Irvine Adult Day Health Services (Center), primarily under the supervision of the Center’s Physical Therapist (P.T.) and Registered Nurse (R.N.).The Physical Therapy Aide provides support to the therapy program including minimal to maximum assistance conducting direct care to support one’s person centered goals according to their individual plan of care. This position assists with providing maintenance physical and occupational therapy interventions under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, and as required by the Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Program Director.
Experience, Qualifications and Capabilities:

· Ability to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor.
· A strong interpersonal and communication skill set and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, supervisors, staff, participants and their family members, volunteers, interns, and others.
· Experience in physical therapy aide, training or exercise science/kinesiology preferred.
· Eighteen years of age or older and a high school graduate.
· Experience working with geriatric and disabled populations and persons with Alzheimer’s and other related dementia is preferred.
· Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
· Copies of current and applicable license(s), certification(s), First Aid, and Healthcare Provider CPR have been provided to the Center.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Position:
Personal Care Services
Assistance with the provision of personal care services to participants, under the supervision of the RN:
· Escort participants using cane, walker or wheelchair as needed.
Assist individuals on the walking list and 1:1 escort list.
· Perform frequent sanitation/disinfection procedures for all restrooms, to include Enhanced Sanitation and Disinfection Policy practices.
Maintenance Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Rotation:
