Irrigation Technical Services (ITS), Inc. is looking for a pump technician to add to our Pumps and Control Division. ITS is looking for an extremely motivated individual that has a willingness to learn, fit into the ultimate team, focus on solutions and be able to communicate effectively.
· Candidate must have a mechanical aptitude and familiarity with different electrical services.
· It will be beneficial if candidate has some background in wiring of relays, relay schematics, relay ladder logic and an understanding of motor starters, VFDs and the ability to diagnose failures and causes.
· Candidate must also have an understanding of pumps (Centrifugal, Submersible Turbines, and Vertical Turbines. This includes large diameter wells, wet wells, flumes and lake/pond suction lines.
General pump technician skills that need to be achieved such as –
· Pump diagnostics, including pump, intake and discharge
· Centrifugal pumps require diagnosing suction lines by means of vacuum and well diagnostics including drawdown, air intrusion and pump and or motor failure.
· Vertical turbine diagnostics include packing, motor, shaft and wet well issues
· Electrical and controls includes the proper use of electrical meters during diagnostics, showing the ability to isolate and verify, utilizing schematics with proper interpretation. Ohm’s Law and the relationship of voltage, current and resistance is taught and applied.
