THE POSITION:Under the supervision of the Clinic Director & School Athletic Director, this position provides injury prevention and physical assessments on site to athletes. The Athletic Trainer will work in conjunction with a physical therapist in all aspects of treatment, reconditioning, and prevention as set forth by the NATA Board of Certification. Candidate must exercise independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize the workload required to complete the work assigned. Candidate will recommend changes in office practices and procedures as necessitated by business needs.JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Perform pre-season strength and conditioning assessments.
  • Conduct performance training sessions in coordination with coaches’ schedules.
  • Coordinate prescribed treatments and recommendations from the patient’s physical therapist, should there be a necessity.
  • Provide referrals to specific physicians and other IRG and allied health professionals including, but not limited to: physical therapy, sports nutrition, sports performance, and massage therapy,
  • Assist with staff and physician liaisons, including the development and implementation of policies in relation to the care of our student athletes.
  • Work in conjunction with the athletic training, nutrition, wellness, physical therapy, and team physicians to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, preventative programs and conditioning programs customized to meet individual needs where applicable.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance at contracted sites.
  • Perform CPR/First Aid and AED services.
  • Act as an IRG Brand Ambassador in all community related events.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience: One year minimum as a strength and conditioning coach. Entry level graduates with a CSCS certification will be considered and encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science, kinesiology, athletic training, or related field.
  • Hold a certification in strength and conditioning and/or personal training, ex: USAW, PES, IYCA, WITS, ACE, and/or CPT
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA CSCS).
  • Experience: One or two years in a strength and conditioning setting at the youth and high school level.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work with electronic medical record keeping systems and other computer databases.
  • Interest in working toward attaining or has obtained a certification of Functional Movement Screen Level 1 (FMS) with Functional Movement Systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to assist with or transfer individuals of various weights/heights.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. required to move/transfer supplies and equipment or to perform an ergonomic task.
  • Must be able to sit for periods of time in meetings and completing data or documents necessary.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, squat, kneel and grip to administer patient care and perform necessary employee tasks.
  • Must be able to perform infrequent climbing in job related tasks.
  • Must be able to hear and speak in order to converse with personnel and supervisors.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk distances.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate to give adequate directions, information and instructions to supervisors, employees.
  • Must be able to carry strength and conditioning equipment, rehabilitation equipment and health related materials necessary distances.
PAY & BENEFITS INFORMATION:
  • Base salary:$20-$25 per hour depending on experience
