REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to facilitate afterschool groups of 25 multicultural elementary school-aged youth in a classroom setting. Ability to provide grade-level academic support in reading and math to elementary school students. Ability to provide in-school support to elementary school youth, including English Language Learners and those unfamiliar with US school systems. Experience working with youth to lead play- and movement-based activities. Experience working with youth from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with culturally affirming practices or willingness to learn.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
Afterschool Youth Specialist will facilitate an afterschool group of 25 elementary school students at Clark Elementary. Afterschool group meets Monday through Thursday. Programming will focus on supporting youth academics with a focus on literacy and math. Additionally, the RESJ Clark afterschool group will provide homework help, Social and Emotional Learning, wellness, and enrichment activities. Those might include culturally specific dance, sport, field trips, and more. AYS will work as part of the RESJ Clark team to support connections between school and home/home and school. AYS may support some limited resource referral and navigation as needed.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position would qualify. This would typically include a combination of:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Education, English, ELL, Math, Sociology, or another related field.
Minimum two (2) years of experience working with youth in an academic context.
Minimum two (2) years of experience with group facilitation or afterschool youth programming
Minimum one (1) year of curriculum development.
Knowledge and understanding of immigrant and refugee cultures and Clark student populations.
KNOWLEDGE:
Education: Some college course work (2)
Experience: 1-2 years of experience is required (3)
Licensure, Certification: TEFL or other teaching certificates welcome but not required.
Additional Language Required: Some ability with one or more student languages preferred.
Computers: All positions at IRCO require use of a computer and experience working with
Microsoft Products including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. In addition, this position specifically requires:
