Company DescriptionIPsoft automates IT and business processes for enterprises across a wide range of industries.Through our portfolio of world leading autonomic and cognitive solutions we provide services that deliver clear outcomes and allow our clients to secure competitive advantage.Our virtual knowledge worker, Amelia, is the first cognitive agent who understands like a human.Headquartered in New York City, IPsoft has offices in 12 countries across the world and serves more than 500 of the world’s leading brands directly as well as more than half of the largest global IT services providers.Job DescriptionRole Overview:IPsoft is looking for an exceptional Linux manager to take a leadership role in overseeing a global team of PAAS engineers and administrators in our Corporate Office.In a typical day you will:Manage and mentor several global teams of PAAS engineers across America, Asia, and Europe.Interface professionally with IPsoft’s partners, clients, and customers. Install and configure Linux hosts (generally, but not limited to, Scientific Linux)Automate common tasks using Perl, Bash, etcArchitects, deploys and manages virtualization solutions through VMware, Xen, Amazon VC2 and other virtualization technologiesDevelops capacity/datacenter plans using storage/ backup tools such as NetBackup, NetApp and EMCWorks on Cloud solutions Diagnoses and troubleshoot issues in the platformTroubleshoot performance issues within the application, web and database tiersResolve escalations received through ticketing system, emails, and/or phone calls in a timely mannerQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or similar fieldMinimum of 5-6 years hands-on experience in Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skillsMinimum of 5-6 years hands-on technical operations experienceExperience managing teams of 50 or more Linux Engineers.Very strong Linux/Unix administration & troubleshooting skillsTCP/IP and basic networkingConfiguring Apache and Tomcat serversCreate and debug MySQL queriesUnderstanding of DNS and how to configure/ troubleshoot itComfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environmentAdditional InformationBenefits• Competitive Benefits Package
