Job Description

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, bio-tech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to provide technical, administrative, and subcontract management support for our team in Atlanta, GA.

You will support the Project Manager in the delivery of individual construction projects, focusing on quality objectives. You'll coordinate the construction team, pursuing information from Subcontractors, vendors, and/or design professionals to achieve project goals. Communication will be key as you regularly interact with clients and project teams, building positive relationships and facilitating and documenting communications.

As an Electrical Project Engineer, we will rely on you to develop a working knowledge of the prime contract requirements and apply it to E&I project activities. The project manager will look to you for support in the development, maintenance, and communication of the following:

  • IPS Program Management systems.
  • Written project scopes of work.
  • Proposals, presentations, and other sales and marketing documents.
  • Monthly status report and PSR.
  • Project schedules, including targeted and actual activity lists, durations, and sequencing logic.
  • Punch list management.
  • Completion of closeout requirements and turnover documents (TOPs).

Understanding budgeting and reporting is important, as you develop a working knowledge of the project budget and identify exceptions to the project budget throughout the execution of the project. You will help to prepare subcontract and purchase order documentation and will monitor and report project costs, developing change control documentation and related financial documentation for the PM. You will support accounting in the preparation of invoices to clients and evaluate vendor and subcontractor invoices. You will focus on quality, as you develop a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction and support quality assurance for the project. You will also monitor design content and quality and coordinate design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.

Safety is paramount at IPS, and you will coordinate safety resources to monitor site safety and correct non-conformances. You will also participate in safety reviews and/or pre-planning/JSA meetings as needed.

Procurement responsibilities include supporting the Project Manager in the procurement and coordination of all required project resources, including intradivisional, interdivisional, and extracorporate. In conjunction with Document Control, you will ensure that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements. Project documents include records of communications, design documents, bid packages, addenda, and bulletins thereto, and submittals, among others.

Come join a caring, enthusiastic team that delivers world-class designs for our pharmaceutical clients and take your career to new heights. You will see, firsthand, our passion for providing our clients with the best personalized care and support. Our construction project managers are excited to mentor you, as you grow in your career.
