iParametrics is Hiring an Engineering Technician - Typhoon Mawar Recovery, Guam - Travel Position Near Los Angeles, CA

iParametrics has a unique and rewarding opportunity to utilize your technical background to assist communities in recovery from major disasters. We currently have a need for Construction Professionals/Engineering Technicians to perform construction monitoring (technical oversight, quality assurance, safety compliance) for recovery operations for military and other facilities impacted by Typhoon Mawar in Guam.

This is a full-time, 100% travel position. Travel & lodging expenses are reimbursed in accordance with allowable per diems.

DUTIES

  • Act as the primary person responsible for monitoring construction contractor’s efforts with regards to on-site quality assurance and safety compliance
  • Furnish government representatives with documentation indicating whether the construction conforms to the contract requirements.
  • Coordinate construction operations between contractors, station personnel, and other government agencies
  • Provide technical oversight of multiple construction contracts
  • Participate in all meetings: preconstruction, post-award, partnering activities during construction, and attend quality control, preparatory, and initial meetings
  • Monitor three-phases of control checklists for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Review/Analyze Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals and provide the Government with comments and recommendations.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental protection requirements and document all findings.
  • Coordinate with Government representatives and appropriate construction contractor personnel before conducting required inspections and meetings such as the NAVFAC Red Zone meeting (coordination meeting typically held at 75% project completion
  • Monitor the preparation of as-built activities of contractors to ensure that those documents are being prepared on an on-going basis.
  • Review contractor submissions of as-built drawings for completeness and accuracy and advise the appropriate Government personnel in writing as to the acceptability of such submissions.
  • Act in direct support of the construction manager/construction oversight engineer as required.
  • Report and document instances of non-compliance with quality control and safety requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Five (5) years of recent experience within the last ten (10) years supporting the Navy, Army, or Air Force sustainment, restoration, and modernization programs at the installation level is required.
  • Five (5) years of recent experience within the last ten (10) years as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Controls Manager, or Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative on Department of Navy or other Department of Defense Projects is required.
  • Knowledge of the three-phases of control and Construction Quality Management process is required.
  • Current certification for the USACE/NAVFAC CQM for Contractors course is required.
  • Current certifications in concrete inspection, structural steel inspection, plumbing inspection, electrical inspection, HVAC inspection and / or other trade related inspection certifications are desirable but not required.
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering, architecture, building construction, construction science, construction management, or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in a business-related field is desirable but not required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Pro.
