POSITION: SOCIAL MEDIA and GRAPHICS COORDINATOR
TYPE OF POSITION: FULL-TIME

WORK DUTIES:

Under general direction, assists Marketing Director in meeting departmental
goals by providing graphic design for in-house projects, coordinating the Fair’s
social media initiatives and facilitating production of all print projects,
including signage. Also facilitates efficient office operations.
TIME % DUTIES

45% Social Media Initiatives
• Coordinates and monitors the Fair’s social media initiatives including

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
  • Devises a multi-platform social media calendar and strategy using

social media management program to analyze metrics and monitor
comments.

  • Investigates and coordinates social media based marketing
opportunities.
  • Actively engages in social media with fans/followers year round,
responding to questions and comments in a timely manner.
  • Maintains all platforms on a consistent basis, accounting for audience,
event, promotions and timelines.
  • Works with Media Buyer to manage a social advertising budget to
expand reach.
  • Reviews current trends on a regular basis and implements changes as
needed.
  • Create content as needed year-round and during Fair.
  • Edits photos and videos, creates graphics for posts.

35% Graphic Design/Production

  • Coordinates and produces reproduction-ready artwork as needed year-
round for all Fair and off-season departments including manuals,
flyers, print-at-home tickets, signage and more.

  • Handles modifications to agency produced print ads, including
resizing ads, copy changes, etc. using theme for promo materials.
  • Designs and updates the template slides for the Fairgrounds’ two
marquees.
  • Coordinates updating Fairgrounds year-round and Fair-time signage,
including recommendations for improvement, design and working
with the print shop and outside vendors as needed for production.
  • As the print shop liaison, maintains the Fair’s branding standards by
reviewing all Fair and off-season departments’ print projects prior to
production. Assists as needed with layout and design for banners,
signage and other printed materials.
  • Works with the Print Shop manager to ensure projects are printed on
time and to correct specs.
  • Works with the Marketing Content Coordinator to design and produce
printed informational and promotional materials for the general public,
news media, and internal staff. Assists in final production and
distribution as needed.
  • Helps prepare timelines/deadlines/production schedules. Takes
responsibility for keeping projects on schedule, keeping track of
deadlines, and delivering products by their due dates.
  • Assists in maintaining the Fair’s logo/branding standards and
applicable usage guidelines.
  • Works with various departments to develop event-specific logos or
graphics to be used for signage, social media, etc.
  • Maintains photo files for use in social media, printed materials and for
other departmental needs. Manages editing and printing of photos if
needed. Works with Fair time photographer to generate shot
list/schedule.

10% Administrative Support/Information/News Dissemination

  • Supervise/work with intern(s) during summer.
  • Facilitate effective office operations by performing varied

administrative duties including managing supply inventory (letterhead,
brochures, etc.), maintaining equipment, answering phones,

assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Computer-literate with a high level of proficiency in computer skills, including
Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, spreadsheet and standard office software.

Experience managing social media, with an understanding of content creation,
customer service and public relations.

Broad experience in multiple design disciplines/mediums with the ability to take
designs to completion and build art files correctly for reproduction.

Good fundamental production knowledge and understanding of printing
processes.

Ability to understand brand essence and appropriately apply style guidelines
across multiple elements.

Possess knowledge of basic marketing and advertising concepts, plus above
average proficiency in spelling, grammar and proofing skills. Understands the
importance of accuracy and has excellent typography, composition, and layout
skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, working alone or within a
team, with little supervision and can follow directions as needed. Well-organized
and is proactive in soliciting information to get things done.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with general
public, customers, vendors, suppliers, etc., in a courteous and professional manner
and knows how to manage expectations.
