Iowa Orthopaedic Center PC is Hiring a MRI Tech Near Des Moines, IA

Description

Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking a motivated MRI Tech to join our team. Our full-time position has the flexibility of working four 10-hour shifts, or four 9-hour shifts and one half-day, during our Monday through Friday clinic hours. The MRI Tech is responsible for performing MRI procedures to produce high-quality images using MRI technology to assist physicians in diagnosis while in compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete high quality MRI Examinations in a timely manner.
  • Document service provided in a thorough and effective manner.
  • Assist patients with dressing, transport and transfers
  • Provide patient care and collect the appropriate clinical history.
  • Provide excellent communication with the patient during the entire scan to assure patient status and comfort. 
  • Adheres to established facility/departmental safety requirements.
  • Keeps work area neat and alerts lead tech to any supply or equipment problems.
  • Schedule and screen patient for MRI scan. 
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions
  • Provide excellent communication skills with patient, staff and referring physician 
  • Ability to perform in a stressful situation
  • Ability to document accurately and concisely 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current MR License
  • Current RT License
  • Current CPR Certification
  • MRI Board Certified, if Tech is not certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within 12 months of start date in this position
  • CEU Credits must be maintained and documented

  • Visual, vocal and auditory abilities to communicate with patients and staff In the English language without translation
  • Use of hands in order to type/write to document services and to be able to provide written communication
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, push, and reach
  • Visual skills in order to read and use a computer
  • Ability to speak and give clear instructions; ability to hear in order to receive instructions
  • Ability to be on ones feet for at least 9 hours a day; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
