Qualifications
- Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate, Substitute License or Substitute Authorization
- Ability to be available to substitute on a regular basis with little, to no advanced
- Regular access to phone or
- Strong communication
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

Performance Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for classroom teachers in various grade levels and subjects throughout the building as
- Teach the content and skills in the daily lesson plans to pupils, utilizing appropriate learning activities and

- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment.
- Communicate with classroom teachers regarding student
- Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities as directed by lesson plans and building supervisors.
- Identify student needs and cooperate with other staff members in helping students solve learning, attitude and health problems.

Miscellaneous Information
- Employees shall be paid twice per month, the 15th, and the last business day of the month. Employees shall receive their checks through direct deposit.
- Hrly Pay is based on time entered in the time clock system and Frontline.
- In accordance with Board Policies 409 and 411-414, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and attend work daily. Unless an emergency arises, sick leave should be entered prior to beginning of work day, unpaid leave must be approved by the supervisor in advance and must be submitted for approval at least three work days prior to the requested leave dates. Unpaid leave needs to be entered in Frontline as “leave without pay”. Employees that take excessive leave and/or do not enter leave correctly and timely will be subject to discipline which could include termination.
- The District reserves the right to deny the use of leave.
- This experience will not count toward converting an Initial Teaching License to a Standard License.
