We are seeking a highly motivated Cost Estimator to join our growing team at IONNA, the joint venture founded by seven global automotive leaders, including BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis! At IONNA, we're revolutionizing the EV charging landscape in North America by creating a high-powered charging network that's set to redefine the way we drive.!

We're on a mission to make EV charging reliable, accessible, and convenient. With a commitment to deploying a minimum of 30,000 chargers, we're shaping the future of electric mobility, exceeding industry standards and leading the charge toward a sustainable, zero-emission tomorrow.

In this dynamic role, you will play a significant role in the nationwide deployment of EV charging infrastructure, and will work closely with construction and site acquisition teams to estimate project costs, ensuring project profitability and successful execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for EV charging station projects across the USA, considering all aspects of design, construction, materials, labor, permits, and utilities.
  • Collaborate with construction and site acquisition teams to understand project scope, identify potential challenges, and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Analyze subcontractor bids and material quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of historical project data to inform future estimates.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, material costs, and permitting regulations related to EV charging station construction.
  • Prepare bid proposals and presentations for potential clients.

Qualifications:

  • A BS degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction cost estimating. Experience in the electrical or civil engineering field is desirable.
  • Proven ability to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.
  • In depth understanding of construction materials, labor costs, and permitting processes.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in construction estimating software (e.g., RSMeans, Timberline).
  • Effective verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the USA (may be required).

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in the EV charging station industry.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for EV charging.
  • Understanding of local permitting requirements for EV charging stations.
