As a Process Safety Consultant for Relief & Flare Systems, you will be providing expertise in various areas of pressure relief and flare systems evaluation and design. You will be responsible for evaluating processes and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant process safety standards and regulations. You will also be responsible for identifying potential hazards and risks and developing practical solutions to reduce them.

Responsibilities
Lead in the design, sizing, and evaluation of pressure relief systems and flare header design of new systems and/or resolve existing relief system inadequacies.
Independently organize and prioritize projects and coordinate a variety of tasks, with good attention to detail and the ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Develop the scope, approach, and total cost for projects, write proposals, prepare contracts, and negotiate with clients for a positive outcome.
Supervise, coordinate, and perform QA/QC of junior team member project deliverables to ensure client satisfaction and maintain quality standards.
Develop budgets and approve invoicing, maintain project schedules, and ensure timely delivery to ensure that critical deadlines are met.
Support business development efforts, including proposals, to increase client retention and growth.
Conduct training programs to educate clients and team members on relief & flare calculations, dispersion modeling, flare header design/analysis, and other process safety and risk mitigation activities.
Mentor junior team members on industry policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
Serve as an expert, guest speaker, or contributing author to publications in niche areas.
Requirements
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with management, team members, and clients.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time to client meetings, project sites, and internal meetings.
Strong understanding of relevant safety standards and regulations, including API 520/521/537/2000, ASME, NFPA, and OSHA.
Strong project management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills, demonstrating a high degree of problem-solving and diligence.
Proven track record of leading relief systems projects during process design, commissioning, start-up, or operations using best practice methodologies.
Proficient in the use of process simulation software and relief systems management tools. Strong communication abilities, both written and oral, presenting thoughts convincingly to team members or clients.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or better in Chemical Engineering or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in pressure relief and flare systems (PRFS) design for the energy, oil & gas, and petrochemical industries.
Experience training clients in-person and online on process safety and risk mitigation activities.
Excellent leadership skills.
Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
Ability to perform effectively with minimal direction.
PMP designation or CCPSC certification is desirable but not required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
