Title: Data Scientist Location: Fort Meade, MD Clearance: TS/SCI w/CI polygraph Responsibilities: * Assess existing data landscape and recommend improvements in data collection, storage, and processing methodologies * Develop and implement data pre-processing and cleaning techniques to ensure data quality and consistency
* Design, develop, and apply advanced statistical and machine learning models to derive insights and support data-driven decision-making
* Visualize and communicate complex data analyses, trends, and patterns to department stakeholders through interactive dashboards and reports
* Collaborate with SME's to identify and prioritize data analysis projects based on department objectives and available resources
* Ensure compliance with federal government data privacy and security requirements, including FISMA and GDPR, when working with sensitive datasets
* Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of data models, recommending and implementing enhancements as needed
* Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data science and apply these learnings to improve processes and outcomes
Requirements: * Bachelor's degree preferred, with at least 7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on federal government environments
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, or TensorFlow)
* Expertise in statistical and Machine Learning techniques, including regression, clustering, and classification algorithms
* Strong data visualization skills, including experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
